The hymns themselves were penned by Martin Luther, Charles Stanford, J. S. Bach, Vincent Persichetti, Alfred Fedak and Alan MacMillan. The Galliard Brass Ensemble assists in various accompaniments. Performances were taped during an American Guild of Organists national convention, recorded July 3, 1986. An on-stage choir of Ann Arbor singers was abetted by a huge and enthusiastic audience.
